White furnishing: how to do it right without losing the warmth of your home

Be the material glass or wood, the furnishing trend has long been leaning towards the colour white. From the light, albeit intense, brightness of white, and its dynamic plays on transparency, Extendo has drawn inspiration in the creation of some of its products.

For example, this is the concept behind the creation of the “Personal” walk-in closets, that are heat-treated for increased durability, brushed and chemically anodized to gain maximum surface resistance. The finishings are made of clear materials and are bright, washable, easy to maintain and resistant to moisture and scratches.

The Extendo designers team is not afraid of using the colour white. The bookcases and walk-in closets have indeed been especially devised for large spaces, where light and air are free to move and reflect off surfaces, as these spaces are often furnished with few items in minimal style.

The secret that lies behind the white layout of our wall units is therefore revealed: it is a blank canvas, and the fun lies in creating hints of contrasting colours by filling it with accessories, books, photographs!

On the other hand, if you’re not keen on arranging various objects on shelves and you prefer the minimalist style, don’t forget some drawers (see for example the new XY bookcase removable coloured cases) to easily add an emphasis of colour, they are essential to keep everything in order.

Interior design has a wide palette of colours, but you can also decorate just with white! It’s a challenge and an adventure, to achieve the utmost elegance.

As Coco Chanel said: “Women think of all colours except the absence of colour. I have said that black has it all. White too. Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony.”
